Sun to half shade, regular water. Recently M. dianica and previously Michelia yunnanensis, but always fabulous. The most dwarf of the hardy Michelias. Can be kept as a smallish shrub, 3 5 ft or trained more upright to 10 ft or so in time. Extremely hardy having survived temperatures in mid USDA
